Condolences

Condolence From: Becky Kitchens
Condolence: Phyllis recently recounted to me her memory of dancing in her parent's living room as a young woman and wearing out their carpet. Thinking of her now dancing on streets of gold, with vision and knees fully functioning, gives me great comfort. Phyllis, don't wear out those streets of gold- save some shine for when I meet you there. Over the decade I knew her, she certainly lost her physical strength, but her inward self only got more and more beautiful. Her warmth and love radiated, and she inspired me with her unending positive attitude. 2 Corinthians 4 encourages with these words which seem to sum up her outlook as well, "We never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won't last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don't look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever."

Condolence From: Dennis Mathewson
Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of your great loss. Recently I lost my dear mother, and found
great comfort in the Holy Bible, like at Isaiah 25 verse 8 - "The Sovereign Lord will
swallow up death forever, and wipe away the tears from all faces." Also at
Revelation 21 verse 4, we find God's promise to remove both pain and death.
I hope these verses will give you a measure of comfort during your time of grief.
